Recently, I’ve been thinking a lot about who I am as a life coach. Four years into working with clients, I still find myself learning something new every day. And almost two years since launching Bold True Life, my education has expanded to areas that I’d never imagined knowing so much about. Building out a website, organizing events, and recording + editing a podcast are just a few of the skills I’ve developed in these last couple of years. And I’m not anywhere near done learning yet.
It’s an interesting dichotomy that I’ve found myself in throughout this experience. Being both a life coach and a student of life. Always in the process of learning and simultaneously using my experience to support others through their own growth.
Every step of this journey has involved points of uncertainty and confusion for me. Moments of second-guessing myself and feeling unsure about my choices. I’ve questioned if this work that I’m so passionate about is really helpful. If sharing my thoughts and reflections in this way actually makes any difference. Almost every week, a part of me wonders if it’s worth showing up again.
This simple choice – to show up – is one of the hardest ones that I have to make each day. It’s scary. It’s vulnerable. And it takes a whole lot of effort. But, for some reason, I keep deciding to come back.
As I was talking about this recently with my sister, I came to an interesting conclusion. One of the main reasons that I keep showing up is because my perspective is one that I wish I heard more of.
Not the story of somebody who has it all figured out, but that of someone who’s figuring it out and sharing their experience along the way.
An honest perspective on the uncomfortable process of growth from a person who’s really invested in learning about the science behind it.
I keep showing up and sharing my truth because this narrative is important. We all have dreams and aspirations in life. And we all face obstacles on the way to realizing them. Fear, overwhelm, unexpected setbacks, and a slew of other complications come up when we dare to chase a dream or prioritize our personal fulfillment.
My message here is not about what life is like on the other side of a hope or dream. It’s about the process of getting there. And about how it’s a process that never really ends. Because there will always be more to figure out in life – new opportunities to explore, ever-changing relationship dynamics to navigate, and unforeseen circumstances that throw us for a tailspin.
Our life’s purpose is not arriving. It is progressing. It’s moving through each new stage with an awareness we didn’t have in the previous one.
The tools, workshops, and coaching that I offer aren’t meant for somebody who has it all figured out. They’re for someone who’s living in the muck of figuring things out. For the woman who chooses to engage with her life despite the fact that she’s often bewildered by it. The one who longs to connect with herself and her purpose every day. The sensitive soul who feels all the feelings and values them… even when she doesn’t understand them yet.
I offer my coaching and EFT services to support women on the journey of coming home to themselves and reclaiming their truth. Those doing the sacred work of becoming more self-aware and showing up to life honestly. The ones who recognize how investing in themselves impacts the world around them. And then make the effort to do so.
Like the woman who focuses on cultivating her relationship with herself and improves her other relationships as a result. Or the one who breaks an unhealthy habit and makes room for a new opportunity to unfold in her life.
The women I work with are on a mission that’s bigger than themselves. But it’s a mission that always begins from within.
I’ve been showing up on the blog for nearly 2 years now, but up until this point I haven’t talked much about the work I do behind the scenes. I haven’t shared a whole lot about how I help my clients. And I’ve realized that this means I haven’t been showing up here fully.
The purpose of this blog is to help us all reflect a bit more deeply on our lives. To look at the situations we find ourselves in from a different lens than we typically would – as an explorer rather than a judge. And to devote a few minutes every other week solely to our personal growth and well-being. But this blog isn’t the only way to do that with me. It’s just the first step.
There’s so much more that we can do together.
The options vary and range from free workshops to paid one-on-one coaching, but the point is that our journey together isn’t limited to the blog. And I’m realizing that I owe it to you to share about these opportunities when they’re available… even when the idea makes me a little uncomfortable.
So from now on, I’ll be updating the blog whenever I’ve got a new chance to work together. The next one coming up is my free Sisters Healing Workshop. This is a live interactive online session that I co-facilitate with my sister every month. We LOVE running this workshop and connecting with the women that join us. And we keep the group intimate to reap the most benefits for those in attendance. Our next one is happening tomorrow! You can get all the details and sign up for it here.
Now that I’ve shared what I’m working through these days, I’d love to hear from YOU! What’s an area in your life that you’d like to show up to more fully? And what’s one step you can take to do so? Let me know in a comment below this blog or an email!
Peace and blessings,
