It’s been a little while since I last blogged. About 7 months to be exact. And life is looking quite different these days than when we last caught up.
If you read my most recent post, you may remember that I was 9 months pregnant at the time. And now… I’m officially a mommy! It’s hard to believe that my little guy has already been around for half a year. The months since he was born have included some of the best, craziest, and most tiring moments of my entire life. While I definitely wouldn’t mind a little more sleep lately, his little smile makes every moment worth it.
Believe it or not, having a baby wasn’t the only big change during my time off. My husband and I also ended up relocating! If you’ve been following this blog or the podcast for some time, you might know that my sister and her family moved to Dallas a few years ago. And we’ve been considering the idea ever since. So when the opportunity arose a few months ago, we decided to jump on it.
As you can probably imagine though, moving cross-country with a newborn isn’t the easiest thing to do. The week that we moved, my brother-in-law jokingly reminded us that we ended up making two of the most stressful transitions in life back-to-back. But, thankfully, we’ve been blessed with tons of help and support from our family. I don’t know how we could’ve managed every step of the way without them.
Of course, with all this newness – life has been feeling fuller than ever these days. And it’s taken me a while to adjust to having my days revolve around a very little human’s eating and sleeping schedule as well as settle into a new city and home. But I’m getting more comfortable with it all every day.
One thing that’s happened in the midst of all these changes is that my relationship with time has shifted dramatically. Becoming a mother has made me value every minute in a way that I never could have before. And it’s always got me thinking about the best ways to use the limited time (and energy) that I have. It’s also got me thinking about how to make the time people spend with me the most valuable for them as well.
So in an effort to make the best of both my and your time – things are going to be changing a bit around here. Starting next month, I’ll be switching the format of these blog posts. Rather than the long-form ones I’ve been writing, my posts will become much shorter.
From now on, I’ll be sending you a love note once a month. It’ll usually be a paragraph or less. And I’ll be sharing a helpful reminder or mantra of the month that we can all return whenever we need. I’ll follow each monthly love letter with a guided EFT/tapping video two weeks later. It’ll be related to the topic of my love letter and mantra.
I’m still learning how to best manage my time, but I’m so excited to see how these changes will work out. Writing and EFT have been extremely helpful tools for me over the past several years and I’m feeling grateful to share these healing opportunities with you. If you’ve never heard of Emotional Freedom Technique before, you can check out some of my past videos over here. And if there’s a particular topic that you’d love to see a video about, please let me know!
Now that I’ve shared my update, I’d love to hear from you! How’ve you been doing these past 6 months? And what’s one lesson or reflection you’ve made in that time? I’d love to hear your answers in a comment below this post or an email!
Peace and blessings,
